In 24 hours I'll be hopping a plane to Los Angeles for a week. I'm heading out to visit my brother and catch some underground improv comedy shows. I hear a lot of the guys in many big shows like Reno 911 and some big viral web videos got their start in this troop. It's called The Groundlings and I guess they're hilarious. My brother also works at CBS studios so we'll be able to get in and see the lot which will be badass. I have tentative plans to move out to L.A. at the end of this year so it'll be a good preview to see what it might be like. I'll keep everyone updated as to how it goes. I just hope I don't allow myself to sign on when I'm three sheets to the wind after a night out. Either way, there will most likely be some interesting posts.
My friend actually just went out to L.A. for the first time this summer for an internship and he's loving it out there! I've always wanted to visit California, not just from the media standpoint, but because almost all my favorite sports teams are from California lol. That's awesome that your brother works for CBS and you'll get to check it out. Enjoy the trip and looking forward to the interesting posts.
ReplyDeleteI would love to visit L.A. Tell us everything because I'm not sure if I'd actually like it or not. I'm kind of in love with the east coast. My brother lived there for awhile but he had some bad experiences. From what I hear, gangs are the real deal over there, and that's what he had to deal with which is why he moved back, but I'm sure it's not as bad as he made it out to be.
