The Onion

I'm sure many people out there have heard of The Onion but for everyone else, I just had to share. This web site is a crude farce of everyday news. Yes there is questionable language and text but nothing NC-17. It has a very Nation Lampoon feel to it. It has actually been around since the late eighties and makes fun of pretty much anything and anyone it deems worthy. If you have a slightly twisted sense of humor and feel a bit bored with regular news, I highly suggest you head on over to The Onion for a new style of news.

Oh and P.S. They're doing a stint about having sold the company to China. So most news stories will revolve around how much better China is than anywhere else.

  1. I actually have never heard of the site until now, and after checking it out it's definitely one I plan on visiting again. The sarcasm used in the articles is worth reading about. i just read about how someone was hoping Taking of Pelham 123 would be afwul but come to find out he was disappointed it wasn't as bad as he thought. It does seem meaningless but the article still gave me a laugh, and I thought that movie was actually good lol.

  2. I have heard of this website but never had the chance to explore it. The "onion" is an interesting choice but maybe it's just an analogy for stinky or crying? (not sure just trying to fit the title and the website together). I like how they are almost bloggers! They report on topics and post their ideas with really crude sarcastic writing tones. (which makes it entertainment to read). I might be stopping back there again! :)

  3. I was scrolling down your blog page and became surprised to see an entry about The Onion. I've known about The Onion for years now, and have been a direct fan ever since their movie was released last year. Steven Seagul as the Cock Puncher was hilarious. The website does tie into Comm 229 with the various news stories and blogs the authors write. The satire and sarcastic humor is unique and genius, while the writing still keeps professional. Great website, very funny movie. I recommend.
